I have used the book for a bit now and really enjoy the layout and descriptions within. The body weight section gives a brief description, a reminder to honor our rest days, and a warm up routine. The progression is inch by inch so if you want to do the yard by yard method you will have to adjust it. The weight lifting section has good descriptions for expectations and behavior, I particularly liked what they expect you to do for the 1 rep max. The system uses your 1RM for the percentage for the day so you have that baseline and will have a method to follow throughout your program. This was the harder part for me since I have done power lifting in the past and had to pull back and remind myself I am lifting for bjj and not to go all out. Both sections remind you that if a day is missed it is not a big deal and to just start where you left off. The author is very encouraging to the reader and sets everything up simplistically for beginners, but not so much that experienced lifters and cardio people are left feeling talked down to. The one addition I would make is a video link , QR code or web address, showing the proper form so users know what the author expects from his readers in case their gym does not have a proper trainer.
